How to assess decisionmaking capacity... an audio lecture

In April 2014, I delivered on on-line lecture on the assessment of decisionmaking capacity. The talk was organized by NAPSA, the National Adult Protective Services Association, and you can view it on vimeo. I lectured on how to decide whether a person is capable of refusing assistance for the care of a functional problem, such as a problem making meals. This is a common issue in elder abuse and neglect cases, and discharge planning. The lecture presents the model of the ACED, or Assessment of Capacity for Everyday Decisionmaking.
